This clip has been a source of laughter for Carey and me over the last 3 months.  Some crazy church planters from Toronto introduced us to Jim and his comedy.  We stayed up late one night with our Canadian friends (during our missionary commissioning week) watching all of the Jim Gaffigan clips we could find on YouTube.  I find myself singing the Hot Pocket jingle at random times and it always makes me happy.  Enjoy.

If you’ve heard the song “I Will Be Here” a hundred times at weddings like I have, then this version is really refreshing.

Do you have a nemesis?  If not, you won’t realize how painful it is to lose your nemesis.  A nemesis brings purpose to your life and gives you someone to strive against each and every day.  This 8 minute video will take you through the pain of losing a nemesis and then the joy of getting them back.

There are so many amazing quotes plus the 2 songs are priceless.

“We’re not enemies, just really bad friends.”

“We just instantly disliked each other.”

“It’s not that I don’t hate you anymore, I do.  I just think it’s time for us to take a break and start fighting other people.”

“If you give me another chance I promise to hurt you in the right way.”

What is it that makes you come alive? Are you doing something about it? I love watching the guy in this clip – both because he is hysterical and because he is intense when it comes to singing. And he’s not content just to talk about it. He’s so passionate that he has to act on it and share it with those around him. As a Christ follower – the gospel (the good news that Jesus proclaimed) should compel us to act on it and share it with those around us. Does the gospel move you and me to this end? If not perhaps we need to re-examine the significance of what Jesus said and did.

One important distinction between the actions in the video clip and what we’re called to do: I don’t think God intends for us to make those around us uncomfortable. Now it’s true that there are times when His Word will make some uncomfortable, and that’s fine – there are times it makes me uncomfortable. However, many times the reason people are turned off by Christians has nothing to do with the message. Don’t blame the gospel for your weirdness or your impertinence.

Please don’t watch this whole song.  Anymore than 2 minutes worth would not be good for you.

I can’t even comment on this – except to say that I wish I had come across this when I was a worship pastor.

Sunday morning special.  No mo’ Captain Crunch.

A friend sent me a link that lifted my spirit.  I want to share it with you.  These ladies are brimming with excitement.

Come on people!  This is Jesus you’re singing about!

Sheesh.

Went to Taco Bell tonight with Emma.  We decided to try their new “Berries and Cream” slushy.  After I ordered it, we sat in the drive through singing the following song.  This is one of  our all time favorite commericals.  I’ve posted it on my blog before, but this is one that you can’t see too often.

Berries and what else?

I was at Walmart this afternoon.  The lady ahead of me was buying a 12 pack of Budweiser.  When she got to the register she handed the cashier her ID.  The thing that made it odd was that this woman was at least 65 – and that might have been 10 years ago.

Surely there comes a day when you no longer have to be carded.  But I understand the rationale – it’s not always easy to distinguish between geriatrics and adolescents :)
