Exact Change May 24, 2008

Wanted to share this special moment with you.  I was on a hot date with my wife.  Stopped by Sonic to get something to drink.  The total was $3.64.  Got 3 ones out of my wallet.  Reached into the change drawer in my car and pulled out a handful to count.  Low and behold I had pulled out exactly 64 cents.

P.S. The date only got better from there.  We went to eat Chinese food at the park only to find that we received no plasticware.  Ate sesame and cashew chicken with our hands.  Laid out on a blanket and talked for a while about what we want our marriage and our family to look like in 5 years.  Went to Wal-mart to buy household goods (and IBC rootbeer).  Came home.  It might not sound that enjoyable, but we had a great time together.

God always provides exactly the right amount we need in the exact season we need it. That’s one of the things that is so amazing about God. We spent our anniversary in our little cabin of less than 500 square feet with little expenditures. But the next morning as I sat in our church beside my husband of 34 years I realized that there wasn’t one “romantic destination” that I would have rather been at that weekend than exactly what God had provided.
