48 hours of not much fun May 13, 2009

I just returned the U-haul truck.  It has been a crazy 2 days.  The drive to KC on Monday was fine.  We rolled in to town about 1:00, ate some Chick-Fil-A and started packing.  Around 5:00 some friends showed up to help and that’s when it got serious.  Much love to Julie Andrews, The Original Swiss Miss, Pharaoh, Josephus, and CP – there is no way we could have done it without you guys 🙂  By 11 pm we had the truck packed – I doubt any 24 foot U-haul has ever held so much stuff.

Woke up Tuesday morning finished cleaning and loading as much as we could into the minivan.  We signed our papers at the title company and hit the road.  Rolled into Duncan, OK at 8 pm and unloaded until 11.  Woke up Wednesday morning and unloaded the truck until 4 pm.

So now we have officially moved.  All of our stuff is in storage here in Duncan.  I’m very grateful for a safe and uneventful couple of moving days.  Tomorrow we wake up, drive to DFW and fly to Jackson, MS.  Hopefully there will be some time to rest over the next few days.

It’s nice to have the move behind us – however in the back of my mind I realize that sometime soon, maybe this summer, I’m going to have to do it all over again. 😦
