An all new low December 14, 2010

Posted by clintcarter in Beets.

Just when I thought my obsession couldn’t get any deeper, it reached an all new low last week.

Some of you know, some of you don’t that whenever Chick Fil A opens a new store they offer free food for a year to the first 100 people.  Carey and I showed up with our tent and sleeping bags bright and early last Wednesday morning at 5:30 a.m.  To be eligible for the payout you must stay on the property for 24 hours before they open.

After signing in, we set up our tent and waited for the sun to come up.  It was 32 degrees and we were cold.

Throughout the day, the CFA employees would come out to play games with us.  I won a prize for throwing a rubber chicken over my back into a bucket (they didn’t know I’ve been practicing that very game for years).  They also fed us breakfast, lunch and dinner – which was just about my limit for Chick Fil A in one day.

It was cold that night, but they hired a DJ and put on a dance party to keep us warm.  Afterwards we went to the tent, took some Tylenol PM and slept like babies til roll call at 5 a.m.

Our reward?  We walked away with 104 of these beauties between the 2 of us as a new day dawned.

Hey, Clint. I found out through some Facebook posts that you guys are friends with Vincent Lee. Isn’t he great?!! Looks like you all had a fun (albeit cold) time. Chick-Fil-A just opened up in our area…unfortunately, I didn’t know in time…otherwise I totally would have been out there waiting! Hope you and the fam are well. Merry Christmas!!

Guess all those years of practicing hoops is paying off…just didn’t know you could throw a rubber chicken into a target. Good job!
